The national government, through Decree 255/2026, authorized the temporary importation of books and materials intended for the Fiftieth Buenos Aires International Book Fair Aires, which will take place at the La Rural Fairgrounds in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires from April 21 to May 11, 2026.
The measure responds to a request from The Book Foundation and covers certain tariff headings (49.01, 49.02, 49.03, 49.04, 49.05 and 49.11), corresponding to books, atlases, music books and other editorial materials, as well as printed or digital media and complementary items such as catalogs, brochures, promotional and exhibition materials. All goods must originate from and come from the countries participating in the event.
The special regime allows the temporary entry of these goods with exemption from import duties and other taxes, provided that they are intended exclusively for exhibition during the fair.
This edition is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Peru and from the Embassy of Ukraine in Argentina, which reinforces its international character and cultural exchange.
Within this framework, the fair has consolidated a five-decade trajectory as one of the most relevant cultural events in the region.
