The deadline for submitting guarantees by customs operators has been extended until September 30

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) extended until September 30 this year the deadline for importers, exporters, trade assistants and customs service personnel - registered in the "Special Customs Registers" - to present guarantees and prove solvency to enable the continuity of their operations.

The measure was made official this Monday (01.08.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) General Resolution 5242/2022 published in the Official Gazette and signed by the head of AFIP, Mercedes Marcó del Pont.

The proof of solvency and the presentation of new guarantees must be submitted once a year by customs operators. AFIP evaluates this documentation and determines whether it is sufficient guarantee. The agency carries out the corroboration of the information based on the sworn declarations of Income Tax and Personal Property Tax.

Since the filing of these taxes was recently extended, the AFIP decided to extend the deadline that customs operators have to provide proof of solvency and submit the new guarantees. The previous deadline was July 31.

The guarantees must be satisfactory to the AFIP in relation to the economic and financial profile set out in the sworn declarations. Among the types of guarantees to be provided are cash guarantees, fixed-term deposits, bank guarantees, surety bonds and surety insurance policies.

In the event that customs operators do not comply with the requirements indicated by September 30, the solvency required to operate within the "Special Customs Registers" will automatically expire.
