Argentina: Bulk wine exports increased by 150%

Argentine exports of bulk wine increased by 150,3% and those of bottled wine they grew 18,2% during July this year, compared to the same month in 2017, according to data collected by the National Institute of Viticulture (INV).

According to the INV, bulk shipments increased from 21.475 hectoliters (hl.) to 53.759 hl., while fractionated wine sales rose from 166.659 hl. to 196.954 hl. In addition, sales of concentrated must increased by 97,3%, totalling 10.864 tonnes in the month in question.

Which country exports the most bulk wine?

In the bulk wine market – as in the wine market in general –  Spain accounts for the largest share of the sector, according to the American Association of Wine Economists.

In terms of production, the world's leading Spanish bulk wine region is Castilla-La Mancha, with more than 20 million hectolitres per year, which is close to 10% of the world's bulk wine production.
