The Second Round of Negotiations between Chile and Brazil will be held in Santiago from August 7 to 10 to sign a Free Trade Agreement that will complement the current ACE 35.

Among the topics that would be included are those related to regulatory affairs, trade facilitation, competition policy, trade in services, telecommunications, e-commerce, labour issues, environmental issues, trade and gender, MSMEs, and the institutional provisions inherent to this type of agreement, details the statement from the Chilean Foreign Ministry.
«With Brazil we are moving towards a new and higher stage. Negotiating a FTA is one of the relevant issues of our foreign policy. It is a friendly country with which we want higher levels of integration and a market of 210 million inhabitants for entrepreneurs Chilean", declared Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero.
Three rounds
The decision to begin these negotiations was made within the framework of President Sebastián Piñera's state visit to Brazil, carried out in April 2018 in Brasilia, when both leaders agreed to expand and deepen economic and commercial relations.
La first round The negotiations took place between June 6 and 8, 2018 in Brasilia. The negotiating teams have printed in this work, a sense of urgency to advance substantially in the discussion of the proposals presented, thus defining different commitments to be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, third round The Negotiations Round will take place from September 11 to 14 and it is expected that a final round will be held in October of this year in order to sign the agreement this year.
