United States suspends investigation into alleged dumping of must from Argentina

-

The national government announced this Tuesday (14.02.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) that the United States Department of Commerce will suspend the investigation into countervailing duties for alleged subsidies that weighed on our exports of Concentrated Grape Juice (JUC), and that limited their access to the North American market.

The measure is the result of Trade who signed with the Argentine Foreign Ministry, with the support of the National Institute of Viticulture and the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy on the one hand and with the private sector on the other.

Through them, Both countries agreed on an exportable quota to the market of United States which is around 40 thousand tons per year, and deactivate the investigation into countervailing duties for alleged subsidies on exports of Concentrated Grape Juice (CJU), which limited access to the American market and suspended an investigation into alleged dumping.

"The agreed volume reflects the historical averages of exports to this destination. In this way, the stability of these exports is preserved and business is given predictability," the Argentine Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"This type of agreement is not common, but it indicates an alternative solution when there is a commitment from all parties," he concluded.

The initial agreements will be published for comment in the United States Official Gazette for thirty days. They may then be signed by the parties and will then be fully effective.
