In San Miguel, AFIP seized illegal merchandise valued at $2.500.000

It was a major operation. Personnel from the Federal Public Revenue Administration seized illegal merchandise worth 2.540.000 pesos, in a procedure carried out together with Interpol, Immigration and Gendarmerie, at the Centro Integral de Consumo fairgrounds in the Buenos Aires town of San Miguel.  

According to the Administration's statement, the seized merchandise included: 571 pairs of sneakers for $280.000; 77.100 DVD movies for $2.125.000; footwear for $80.000 and 271.000 units of glasses, toys and caps for $57.000.

These fake products infringe the rights of the Customs Code and the Law on Trademarks and Intellectual Property.

On the other hand, officials drew up 28 closing reports at the fair where they detected 11 violations of the Monotributo labor regime.

Meanwhile, Immigration has screened 37 foreign nationals, detecting 2 in an irregular situation.

38 agents of the organization participated in the operation. 150 premises were surveyed dedicated to the sale of clothing, watches, cell phone accessories, sports shoes and watches, among others, the document says.
