The Director General of Customs, Guillermo Michel, held a positive meeting today (15.03.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) at the agency's headquarters with eleven legislators from Entre Ríos, in which he spoke about the Coastal Sector on the Uruguay River, new area created to deepen control of drug trafficking in the Hydroway.
The Deputies of the Nation who were present were Marcela Antola, Marcelo Pablo Casaretto, Ana Carolina Gaillard, Tomás Ledesma and Blanca Inés Osuna, as well as Rogelio Frigerio and Gustavo René Hein, Pedro Jorge Galimberti and Gabriela Lena. Customs reported that upon the arrival of the legislators, the customs k-9 division He demonstrated the skill that the Canes contribute to control tasks.
Following this demonstration, Michel presented the main guidelines of the intelligence that Customs has developed in the Hidrovía region in relation to drug trafficking, in addition to presenting the reinforcements directed there in terms of technical and human resources. According to Customs data, the Hidrovía Drug Trafficking Investigations Division currently has a total of 17 agents to carry out joint procedures with the operational areas of the area, as well as to carry out coordination actions on the controls to be performed.

Michel also made a firm call to legislators. “The way forward is deepen joint work between Customs, security forces, the judiciary and Congress to generate legislative mechanisms that strengthen our ability to control drug trafficking on the Entre Ríos border," he concluded.
