Government extends anti-dumping duties on Chinese products

The Ministry of Productive Development of the Nation proceeded to continue with antidumping measures on goods originating in China, through Resolutions 482, 483 y 484.

In all three cases, according to the regulations published this Thursday (19.08.2021) in the Official Gazette, the examination was in the closing stage and, due to individual presentations, it was decided to reopen the investigation, giving continuity to the application of specific rights.

In the first case, it is about electric ironing presses, weighing less than or equal to fifty-one kilograms (51 kg), originating in the People's Republic of China, merchandise classified in the tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) 8451.30.91 and 8451.30.99; establishing a definitive antidumping duty in the form of a specific duty of five hundred and five United States dollars with twenty-one cents (USD 505,21) per unit, for a period of five (5) years. At the recent closing of the reopening, it was decided to maintain in force the measure provided by Resolution No. 1.210/15 of the former Ministry of Economy and Public Finance for export operations to the Argentine Republic of the described product, originating in the People's Republic of China, consisting of a definitive antidumping duty in the form of a specific duty of five hundred and five United States dollars with twenty-one cents (USD XNUMX) per unit, for a period of five (XNUMX) years.USD 505,21) per unit.

In the second case, Resolution 483/2021 followed the same path, on Electric irons, excluding irons that are connected by pipes to an external steam generator, originating in the People's Republic of China, merchandise classified in the tariff position of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) 8516.40.00, the specific duty that had been set at the time was thirteen US dollars with twenty-two cents (US$ 13,22) per unit for dry electric irons, and fifteen US dollars with forty-one cents (US$ XNUMX) per unit for dry electric irons.USD 15,41) per unit to electric steam irons, for a period of five (5) years. Since the reopening of the case, it has been decided to maintain in force the measures established by Resolution No. 244/15 of the former Ministry of Economy and Public Finance to the export operations to the Argentine Republic of the same product mentioned, originating in the People's Republic of China.

Finally, Resolution 484/2021 also has the same origin as the previous ones, regarding «crosspieces and tri-pieces", originating in the People's Republic of China, goods classified under the tariff item of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) 8708.99.90, which carried a specific duty of eleven US dollars with nine cents (US$ 11,09) per kilogram and a specific duty on tricetas of sixteen US dollars with two cents (USD 16,02) per kilogram, both originating in the People's Republic of China, for a period of five (5) years.

This resolution decided to maintain in force the measures applied by Resolution No. 539/15 of the former Ministry of Economy and Public Finance to imports of "crossbones and tricetas" originating in the People's Republic of China.
