The National Government created the import regime for incomplete vehicles through the Decree 310 / 2023.
This measure, published this Thursday (15.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, will allow automotive companies to import fully disassembled vehicles so that they are assembled in the country and auto parts from the national industry are incorporated.
For the project to be approved, imported vehicles must not have a local equivalent. In this regard, the minimum average national content of total production must reach 10% in stage 1, 12% in stage 2, and 15% in stage 3 from the start of the project.
The regulations also established a Extra-zone Import Duty (DIE) of 14% for goods in the tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM, included in the items 87.02 and 87.04, imported under the projects approved within the framework of this regime.
Projects may be submitted until December 31, 2029, inclusive, and will be approved for a period of up to five years, extendable for the same period once only.
This measure will come into effect as of June 16th, 2023.
