The Government approves the distribution of 29.500 tons of the Hilton Quota for the period 2022-2023

-

The Ministry of Agriculture assigned the distribution of the 29.500 tons of the import tariff quota for high-quality boneless chilled beef, known as the "Hilton Quota", which the European Union established for Argentina for the period between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.

He did it through the Resolution 237 / 2022 published this Thursday (28.07.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, whose text specified the distribution of the 28.174,061 tons assigned, also establishes the integration of a balance of 1.214,939 tons to the Free Availability Fund and allocates the 111 remaining tonnes to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In the resolution it is dismissed the applications made by the applicants Matadero y Frigorífico Federal SA, Abuelo Julio SA, Higla SRL and Tigonbu SA, for the Industry and Joint Projects categories, for having submitted their applications after the registration deadline had expired, and by the Consortium for Cooperation for the Marketing and Exportation of Meat, because it "does not have a registration enabling it to do any of the activities of exporting and marketing livestock and meat," as indicated in the recitals.

Likewise, it was given to the awarded Quickfood SA and Marfrig Argentina SA, on the one hand, and Frigorífico Alberdi SA and SA Carnes Pampeanas, on the other, are treated as an Economic Group for the purposes of determining tonnage.

It was also approved Register of authorized signatures to export within the 111-tonne tariff quota opened by Great Britain.

The allocation of this tonnage will be governed by the international criterion "first come, first served", according to the date of registration of the applications to access the Certificate of Authenticity in the Export Quota Administration System.

The Hilton Quota is a tariff quota for the export of high-quality, high-value boneless beef, granted by the European Union to meat producing and exporting countries.

Since the quota is an import quota from the point of view of who grants the trade preference, it is the European Union that establishes the conditions of entry into its market.

Argentina currently has a quota of 29.500 tons per year and a quota of 200 tons for buffalo meat, whose commercial cycle runs from July 1 of each year to June 30 of the following year.

The cuts that make up the quota are: sirloin steak, rump, loin, flank steak, inside rump, outside rump (or their individual cuts: peceto and tail meat or square) and loin ball and thin entrails, with the variants that each individual market prefers.

Those interested in accessing said tariff quota must be awarded in accordance with the regulatory distribution regime regulated by resolution 130/2020 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
