The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched the seventh edition of the contest Govern yourself: the art of good governance Eduardo Campos Award, that will award the best innovative initiatives of subnational governments in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Govern yourself Its objective is to identify, document and ultimately reward experiences in subnational public management in countries in the region. The competition places special emphasis on recognizing innovation, social inclusion, or sustainability. behind the selected initiatives with a view to supporting their dissemination throughout the region and encouraging other governments to learn about and eventually incorporate successful management experiences.
This year the IDB seeks to recognize innovative governments that are fostering collaboration, collective intelligence and digital tools to ensure the continuity of public management and public services in the context of social distancing constraints triggered by the COVID-19 crisis
Initiatives may be proposed by second-level governments. (states, provinces, departments, regions and other denominations) or third administrative level (municipalities and other denominations)from IDB borrowing countries. Partnerships with national or subnational governments, civil society groups, private sector entities or academic centers will be accepted.
Proposals and documents began to be submitted from September 1, 2020, free of charge through the website www.iadb.org/concursogobernarte. The applicants may submit their proposals before November 1st.
