The United States government imposed on Thursday (09.11.2017) compensatory duties between 71,45 and 72,28 percent on Argentine biodiesel imports, following an investigation into alleged dumping against Argentine producers.
The final determination of the United States Department of Commerce It was announced this Thursday (09.11.2017) following a complaint filed by the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) for dumping at the beginning of the year.
Given the possibility that the United States would ratify this decision, sources from the Argentine Foreign Ministry had warned that in this scenario the possibility of resorting to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was being "firmly" evaluated.
"First, a series of legal procedures must be completed in the United States, but the issue is under evaluation," they said.
Argentina won a similar dispute at the WTO against the European Union, which had imposed countervailing duties on Argentine biodiesel imports, also alleging dumping.
