The Secretariat of Industry, Knowledge Economy and Foreign Trade Management of the Ministry of Productive Development relaunched the Drawback customs regime, through which companies that export products made with imported inputs can access a full or partial refund of the amounts that have been paid in import duties and statistics fees.

By Resolution 212 / 2022, published on Wednesday (06.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX), modifications were made to the management of the procedure with the aim of simplify the procedure and speed up processing, settlement and payment of benefits to support the export sector in its foreign trade operations.

To access the refund, the requesting companies must be registered in the Single Registry of the Productive Matrix (RUMP). The procedure for classifying the merchandise will be carried out through the Remote Procedures (TAD) platform.

Until now, the Drawback regime practically involved one procedure per operation. Through the new amendment, the Drawback Typification Certificate will have a five-year term to be applied to different commercial operations, as long as the declared input-product relationship and/or the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) are not modified.

The product to be exported may contain all or some of the imported goods approved in the Classification Certificate.
