The WCO Regional Office for Capacity Building (ORFC) has launched the 4th Edition of the "Ethics and Good Governance Course - Instruments for fighting corruption» for the Americas and the Caribbean, activity organized with the International School of Foreign Trade and Customs of Uruguay.
"The course aims to further and better train human resources - public and private - taking into account the growing legal, economic and operational complexity of International Trade and Customs in the modern world," highlights a statement released on Wednesday (16.08.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) by the regional support structure in charge of the Uruguay Customs.
According to the ORFC, the course, "virtual and free", has the participation of "91 customs officers» from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
The Office also reported that the activity contributes to the objective set by the World Customs Organization regarding "stimulating and coordinating the training" of human resources working in International Trade and Customs.
It is worth noting that the WCO pays great attention to the continuous improvement of skills related to customs management. To this end, the statement notes that the new edition of the course is taught within the framework of the Macro Agreement signed between the ORFC and the International School of Foreign Trade and Customs of Uruguay, an educational organization recognized by the PICARD International Standards.
