A total of Ninety members of the Customs of the Americas and the Caribbean participated in the Workshop on Electronic Commerce, developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO) with the aim of strengthening the capacities of the respective administrations. The event was held from April 12-14, 2021.
During the closing activity, the Regional Vice President of the OMA, Werner Ovalle Ramírez, thanked for having attended to the needs of the region, managing support for it in English and Spanish.
Likewise, Ovalle highlighted the invaluable nature of the experiences shared by the moderators of the sessions, and indicated: "This challenges us to internally review our customs services for the inclusion of best practices as part of the evolution of continuous improvement of our processes and the constant changes that foreign trade undergoes.”

E-commerce has become a new mode of execution in the field of international trade; it is another form of exchange. In this regard, the training initiative shows how customs are keeping up with the challenges to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in order to collectively respond with the appropriate approach from an international trade facilitation perspective.
