Chilean Customs Service inspectors intercepted three travelers with 21 kilos of marijuana at the El Loa outpost (north), who were placed in preventive detention.
The procedure was recorded when Citizens got out of a taxi at the entrance to the outpost to try to walk along one sideHowever, they were immediately taken back to the x-ray machine to have their backpacks checked and it was found that They were carrying 20 rectangular packages that contained a total of 21 kilos 718 grams of marijuana.

When asked, They indicated that they are from Cochabamba and had to take the illicit substance to Santiago in exchange for USD 5 thousand dollars. Once the presence of drugs was confirmed, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the police on duty were informed.
The arrest was carried out at the Iquique Court of Guarantee and the prosecutor Oscar Sáez Sanhueza charged the foreigners with drug trafficking. The hearing was conducted by the magistrate Frederick Roco Alvarado, who declared the arrest legal and decreed as a precautionary measure the preventive detention of the accused during the 120 days that were set as the investigation period.
