The Central American Customs Committee activated a contingency plan on Thursday (22.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) to ensure trade flows in the region, reported the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA).
"As agreed by the Meeting, the Central American Customs Committee activated the Contingency Plan for the recovery of regional computer systems while the Costa Rican computer system is stabilized," the statement said. released on Friday.
He also noted that SIECA will work with the Customs Services of Costa Rica and other Central American countries to establish alternative IT mechanisms.
This measure is intended to guarantee the electronic transmission of DUCA-F and DUCA-T from Costa Rica to other Central American countries and thus ensure that trade flows are not affected.
It should be noted that the DUCA-F is the document that must be used for the trade of goods originating in the Central American region, while the DUCA-T is used for the transfer of goods under the international land transit regime, according to official sources.
"SIECA will provide an alternative IT mechanism to guarantee the electronic transmission of the DUCA-F for exports from Costa Rica to Central America. This IT development began on Thursday, April 21, and is expected to be completed no later than Monday, April 25, 2022," the statement concluded.
SIECA is the Central American regional body that offers technical support to the governments of the region, to promote efforts to gradually achieve the economic union of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
