The Argentine provinces of Salta and Jujuy signed agreements with the Plant Health Association of Northwest Argentina (Afinoa) to strengthen the mobile barriers that control plant health in both jurisdictions.
The signing of the agreements took place during the meeting of the Regional Phytosanitary Committee of Northwest Argentina (Corenoa), in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy, in which the National Service for Food Health and Quality (Senasa) also participated.
"Dialogue allows us to have results like this one, in which we can develop a strategy agreed upon by all parties, which guarantees that we can carry out the controls," said the vice president of Senasa, Guillermo Rossi, at the end of the meeting.
The mobile phytosanitary barriers of both Provinces will work in a coordinated manner with fixed checkpoints, responding to a regional control strategy.
