The Argentine Government signed this Thursday (18.08.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) with Uruguay a framework agreement on the exchange of Spectrographic imagings generated by X-ray inspection equipment for containers and trucks, reported official sources.
His signature was headed by the Director General of Customs, Guillermo Michel, and his counterpart from Uruguay, Jaime Borgiani, with the presence of the Federal Administrator of Public Revenue, Carlos Castagneto, at the headquarters of the Argentine Customs, according to the statement.
This agreement, based on the standards of the SAFE Regulatory Framework to secure and facilitate global trade of the World Customs Organization, Pillar 1 Customs-Customs, aims to strengthen cooperation and the fight against customs offences that are harmful to the economic, commercial, financial, social, environmental, cultural and security interests of both countries through the mutual recognition of scanner images.
In this way, mutual recognition of images will allow customs officials from Argentina and Uruguay ensuring the integrity of cargo and containers, through the exchange of harmonized and interoperable messages in computer systems developed by the customs administrations of both countries.
It is planned, as soon as it becomes technically feasible, to harmonize the transmission of images in the SINTIA and INDIRA systems for use in customs risk management.
The celebration of the agreement not only strengthens customs cooperation, but rather positions both administrations at the forefront of the Smart Customs Practices capable of exploiting the Internet of Things by monitoring and communicating data, according to official information.
