Argentina sets 12% export duty on exports

-

The Argentine Government sets an export duty of 12% on the export for consumption of all goods included in the tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur (NCM) until until the 31 of December of 2020.

This is what the Decree 793 / 2018 published this Tuesday (4.9.2018) in the Official Gazette.

Goods with and without processing

According to the norm, the right of export may not exceed four pesos for each dollar of the taxable value or the official FOB price for primary goods, as appropriate.

Meanwhile, for the goods with processing such as meat and fish (Annex I), this limit will be three pesos for each US dollar of the taxable value or the official FOB price, as the case may be.

Causes

The recitals state that the new international context, the need to accelerate fiscal consolidation, and recent exchange rate changes and their effect on domestic prices make it necessary to temporarily modify the levels of export duties.

The decree is signed by the President, Chief of Staff, Ministers of Finance and Production, and Secretary of Agribusiness.
