The Rioja company Aimurai SA has obtained the original endorsement of the seal from the Ministry of Agroindustry, which will allow it to access an agreement for its brand "Azait" with the Brazilian group Pão de Açúcar.
"Argentine Food" Seal
«This work will allow us to maintain our presence in the markets and to grow little by little, even overcoming adversities. Our projected exports for this year with this new Seal will exceed 2.000.000 units in all our brands, where Brazil is our main market. This allows us to proudly demonstrate that We can export added value and consolidate our country as a source of extra virgin olive oil. "quality guaranteed," said Daniel Carrizo, Commercial Manager of the company.
Through Resolution 66/2018, the right of use was granted to Aimurai for its Extra Virgin Olive Oils of the brands “Azait”, “d’Aguirre – Clásico”, “d’Aguirre – Gourmet”, “Olica” and “Siriano”. Located above the Famatina Valley, in the town of Vichigasta, this company also produces olives and other olive-derived products, in addition to oil.
This company, which was supported by the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade (AAIC) and the Ministry of Agroindustry to improve its international insertion, participated in the business rounds organized during 2017, with the Casino Group. With this background, it capitalized on this experience in the 2018 edition of Expo APAS, in the city of San Pablo, where it met again with buyers and finalized the export of packaged olive oil. One of the requirements was to show and certify Argentine origin.
Thanks to obtaining the "Argentine Food" Seal as a guarantee of origin, a determining factor in the development of negotiations, closed a deal for its “Azait” brand with Pão de Açúcar, a member of Grupo Casino, the largest retail and distribution group in Brazil. The distribution will reach the entire territory of the neighboring country and it will be the only Argentine Extra Virgin Olive Oil of direct import that can be purchased in this chain. This operation -of approximately US$ 850.000- marks the return of an Argentine oil of these characteristics to the shelves of the Group, after three years.
By obtaining the seal, Aimurai also benefits from an additional export rebate of 0,5% which is added to the general price for the product. You also have the opportunity to participate free of charge in an annual fair on the calendar set by the AAIC. Your products may also be present at fairs, exhibitions, seminars and national and international business meetings and will have institutional promotion in the web catalogue of the Ministry of Agroindustry, which opens a new channel of communication with companies and buyers abroad.
