The Secretariat of Industry and Commerce, through the Resolution 141 / 2024, announced the closure of the investigation into alleged dumping of exports to the Argentine Republic of “Elevators” originating in China. In this case, the competent authority decided not to apply antidumping duties.
According to the regulations, published on Wednesday (03.07.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, the investigation request was submitted to the former Secretariat of Commerce, by the firms Ascensores Servas SA, Ascensores Cóndor SRL and Agrupación de Colaboración Medios de Elevación Guillemi, who meet the requirements of representativeness within the national production branch.
The investigations had been initiated on January 19, 2023. The Argentine Government requested the accredited and interested production sector to provide evidence for the corresponding investigations.
The published resolution indicates that the information gathered during the analysis does not allow the conclusion to be drawn about the existence of dumping in import prices, which causes or threatens to cause damage to the national production industry. Consequently, the National Commission for Foreign Trade determined that “…the investigation should be closed without the application of antidumping measures.”
The end of the technical body's investigations means that no fines will be imposed on Chinese imports of elevators.
