The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) implemented a new modality in the procedure for releasing guarantees for customs operations, according to General Resolution 4360.
La regulations, published in the Official Gazette on Friday (13.12.2018), introduces automation through the digital system for certain customs operations, including possible fines.
The resolution states that foreign trade operators will be able to learn about the measure on the AFIP website. will come into effect on 31/1/2019.
On customs guarantees
Customs guarantees ensure the payment of tax obligations in favor of the State in import operations, and compliance with other requirements inherent to foreign trade activities. (Articles 453 to 465 of the Argentine Customs Code)
What are those requirements and taxes?
- Guarantee on payment of import duties, fees and taxes.
- Guaranteed delivery with guaranteed payment.
- The correct exercise of the activities of customs agents.
- Guarantee of payment for merchandise storage in general deposit warehouses.
- Compliance with obligations by expedited courier companies authorized for International Postal Traffic.
- Guarantee of payment for storage in Free Warehouses and Special Warehouses.
- Guarantee on the operation of Customs Warehouses or facilities authorized to operate under temporary admission regimes with active improvement.
