The National Customs Directorate of Paraguay and the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) announced this Friday (23.04.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) the signing of an agreement for the exchange of information on travelers and their risks.
According to the statement, the The exchange of such information will be through the implementation of the Global Automated Targeting System program, (ATS-G, for its acronym in English), a tool that in the immediate future will complement other initiatives aimed at detect and combat smuggling and other transnational crimes carried out by such means.
The signing of this agreement is possible thanks to the memorandum of cooperation signed on April 10, 2018 between both institutions. Likewise, the instrument has the support and assistance of the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice and Department of State of the United States, according to the text.
The regulatory instruments are expected to be improved soon, considering the current pandemic scenario, which in turn will allow the deployment of a series of technological advances under shared and approved security standards, they explained in the statement.
