The National Customs Directorate reiterated the validity of the "Zero Kilo" measure"which implies eliminating the special benefit regimes for tourists such as those for the entry of luggage, effects and tourist vehicles.
«The Customs Operational Management Area reminds its administrations and the general public that the RG 23/020, which provides that in the event of a public health emergency, they are Tourist franchises suspended "regarding the entry of purchases of merchandise and incidents of travelers," the statement says. Therefore, Uruguay Customs urges non-residents in border areas not to travel to border crossings to make purchases, since failure to comply with the measure will result in the confiscation of all purchased merchandise.
