Singapore has officially launched a new end-to-end digital trade ecosystem that unifies value chain players through technology, the country's Customs said in a statement.
The network called "Networked Trade Platform» (NTP) brings together four government service certificates requested for trading in and out of Singapore, 25 value-added services from trade-oriented companies and three other government services that will be incorporated into the new network in the coming months, details the written.
El ecosystem replaces government's TradeXchange and TradeNet platforms with the aim of increasing productivity through digitalization, competitiveness via more precise data analysis and generating greater opportunities for service providers.
At the launch, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said the Singapore Customs holds talks with China and the Netherlands on how to link nations' trading systems.
“The NTP should help achieve paperless trade and greater operational efficiency for our operators who need to conduct digital transactions with all their partners,” said Dr Tan.
Furthermore, ASEAN member states are also considering expanding the association's Single Window initiative. to transmit more documents digitally, achieve greater economic integration and expand trade within and outside ASEAN, Mr Hen said.
