Crime Stoppers Jujuy was launched to strengthen citizen security in northern Argentina

She explained that this is due to two fundamental reasons: the fear of being involved in a judicial process and the lack of public confidence in institutions because reporting exposes the complainant and his or her family. “Based on this reality, Crime Stoppers Jujuy will be a safe channel to combat crime and to guarantee the follow-up of complaints by the complainant and the Ministry of Security,” she explained.

The concept of community and institutionality is the key articulation for the construction of a security policy and to continue working against drug dealing and drug trafficking.”

The Crime Stoppers program in Jujuy and in countries around the world is designed to use the media and other resources to attract information from the public that can facilitate police investigations.

In this regard, Guillermo Corro, Minister of Security of Jujuy, reported that “the Crime Stoppers office will operate in the Police Department with the necessary equipment for the analysis of information and will join the public policies undertaken by the provincial government to deal with crimes that originate in the province but continue in other countries.” He highlighted the “El Vecino Alerta” program, the training of Community Leaders, the creation of the cybercrime office and the Rural Police, to act on environmental management issues, among others.
