WCO strengthens collaboration with Latin American express delivery industries

The World Customs Organization (WCO) participated in the annual Conference of Latin American and Caribbean Express Companies (CLADEC).

At the virtual meeting of the organization that represents the express delivery industry in the region, which took place this Wednesday (04.11.2020), he spoke Werner Ovalle, Guatemalan Customs Superintendent and Vice President of the World Customs Organization for South America, North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

The activity allowed the person who holds the Regional Vice Presidency to present the Joint work plan with the private sector to achieve a digital, competitive and integrated region, was reported via the social network Twitter.

 During his speech, Ovalle highlighted “the importance of coordinating actions with the private sector to promote spaces that generate mechanisms for dialogue, agreement and the exchange of ideas and good practices that contribute to strengthening the facilitation of international trade.”

The initiative thus encourages strengthening the relationship between customs and private operators to ensure and facilitate the logistics chain, in line with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
