The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Argentina decided to open an examination due to expiration of a deadline on an antidumping measure imposed on fabrics originating in China, through the Resolution 518 / 2021.
According to the regulations, published on Friday (03.09.2021) in the Official Gazette, the portfolio initiated an antidumping investigation on these Chinese products on September 6, 2016. Following the request of the Chamber of Producers of denim, corduroy and related products (CADECO) and the firms Santana Textil Chaco SA., Vicunha Argentina SA. and Santista Argentina SA, the expiration of the term has been reopened.
These are exports to Argentina, Denim Fabrics which corresponds to fabrics made exclusively or mainly of cotton with yarns of different colors, including those of twill weave of less than or equal to four (4) and broken twill (sometimes called satin of 4), of warp effect, in which the warp threads are of one and the same color and the weft threads are raw, bleached, dyed gray or colored with a lighter shade than that used in the warp threads of a weight greater than, equal to or less than two hundred (200) grams per square meter, originating from the People's Republic of China, merchandise that is classified in the tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of MERCOSUR (NCM) 5208.43.00, 5209.42.10, 5209.42.90, 5210.49.10, 5211.42.10 and 5211.42.90, setting a Minimum FOB export value of three US dollars and ninety-three cents (US$3,93) per linear meter.
In accordance with the application for opening due to expiration of the deadline, it has been decided to keep the antidumping measures in force until the review procedure initiated is concluded.
