San Rafael, Mendoza: officialization of the delimitation of the Primary Customs Zone

The Government of the Nation, through the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), has officially delimited the San Rafael Primary Customs Zone, located in the jurisdiction of the San Rafael Customs Division, in the province of Mendoza, in western Argentina. This important measure was adopted by the General Resolution 5585/2024, published today (17.10.2024), in the Official Gazette.

In order to facilitate foreign trade operations by land, the Primary Customs Zone had been provisionally enabled in 2011 as a Customs Operational Zone on the same property, located in the Cuadro Nacional District. This provisional authorization was implemented until the necessary steps for its definitive authorization were completed.

The recent resolution confirms that the proposed perimeters meet the conditions required for designation as a Primary Customs Zone, in accordance with the Article 5 of the Customs CodeIt is important to remember that a Primary Customs Zone is an area of ​​the customs territory authorized for carrying out customs operations or for the control thereof, where special rules apply for the circulation of people, as well as for the movement and disposal of merchandise.

The San Rafael Primary Customs Zone covers a Total area of ​​53.000,43 square meters (m²)It is located on La Intendencia Street, without a number, between Alberto Perret Street and the Main Access Street to the San Rafael Industrial Park.
