The National Government has arranged a Exceptional automatic extension of 120 calendar days for Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) for products that are not exported in bulk (bags, packages, etc.) or in containersThis extension will take effect upon expiration of the boarding period, in addition to the automatic extension already in force.
La Resolution 68 / 2024 of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, published this Tuesday (15.10.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, aims to grant a additional term so that exporters can meet their trade commitments, thus avoiding further damage to the agricultural export sector. The preamble to the regulation explains that the international logistics crisis has generated severe disruptions, with increases in freight costs and a marked shortage of containers, which has hampered foreign trade.
Precisely, last September 24, the Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic (CERA) warned about this situation, highlighting the technical and geopolitical problems that have significantly reduced the availability of space on ships. Added to this are local complications: the ports of Buenos Aires, Zárate and Rosario have experienced delays and cancellations in arrivals, which has caused the volume of containerized cargo in the first half of 2024 to be below 50% of the average of previous years.
Faced with such concern about the current situation of international maritime container transport, the Government has taken this exceptional decision. To this end, the resolution also instructs the General Directorate of Customs to implement the measure in the Malvinas Computer System (YES) and in the Argentine Foreign Trade Single Window (VUCEA).
The application of this measure will start immediately.
