Dr. Héctor G. Vidal Albarracín received well-deserved recognition from the international organization that brings together customs brokers, agents, and customs agents (ASAPRA). The award highlighted his extensive academic career and his decisive contribution to the doctrinal development of customs law in Argentina and Latin America.
The award was presented on May 6, 2026 in the City of Buenos Aires, according to the organizers, who highlighted his ongoing contribution to the development of Argentine and international customs law.
It should be noted that Dr. Vidal Albarracín is one of the legal experts who served on the Drafting Committee of the Argentine Customs Code and is an advisor to the Customs Brokers Center. He also participated in reports and technical work that supported various declarations promoted within ASAPRA, including:
- Cartagena Declaration, Colombia (2018): “Responsibility of customs agents, brokers and customs brokers”.
- Punta Cana DeclarationDominican Republic (2020): “Cross-border electronic commerce – E-commerce”.
- Declaration of Santiago, Chile (2023): “Guide to the actions of agents, brokers and customs brokers on issues related to risk, surveillance and control of goods and for the customs service.”
All of them are of special relevance, considering that the activity of the foreign trade professional takes place in a scenario of maximum operational, regulatory and responsibility risk in the international logistics chain.
According to Oscar Horacio Dhers, Vice President of the Southern Cone Area of ASAPRA until 2025, "the award ceremony was originally planned as part of the International Seminar on Piracy and Trademark Fraud, an event that was to include the participation of the Technical Officer of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Mr. Maurice Adefalou. However, scheduling conflicts led to its rescheduling."
Following the award ceremony, industry professionals shared a tribute dedicated to Dr. Vidal Albarracín in the Argentine capital.
“We are proud and grateful for the enormous contribution made by this outstanding academic to customs brokers and customs law, contributing to the development of a more fluid, secure and efficient international trade,” said attendees at the meeting.
