The Association of Importers and Exporters of Argentina (AIERA), which has been protecting SMEs in the foreign trade service since 1966, is demanding that import licenses be expedited to produce goods and export. The letter is signed by the Board of Directors.
The statement released on Tuesday (23.03.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) says: “Our entity has always supported the administration of Foreign Trade, and all measures that contribute to the substitution of imports, likewise we promote the export of goods with higher added value and we work so that more SMEs join to export them, but today we are concerned because there is a serious delay in the authorization of SIMIs, and This will cause delays in the manufacturing of goods, which in the case of export, can cause our companies to lose markets.".
“The very dynamics of the process of obtaining Non-Automatic Licenses (LNA) produces some paradoxes, since some raw materials of textile origin that carry DJCP (which expire after 180 days) are prior to obtaining the LNA; When there is a delay in granting it, if the delay is too long, when the LNA is issued, the DJCP has already expired and everything has to start again.", the letter states.
"In other cases, if the LNA is obtained and payment is made abroad to prepare and send the merchandise and this process is delayed beyond its extension and it expires, it happens that, then if the new LNA is not authorized, the merchandise cannot be removed from the port., with the consequent very high storage costs, given that this operation would not produce a new outflow of foreign currency and, worst of all, for the State's revenue: it does not allow the entry of the amounts corresponding to the payment of the corresponding rights and taxes, also preventing the incorporation of these assets into the economic circuit," adds AIERA.
And he concludes: “We understand that to achieve this, it is imperative that the granting of SIMIs be expedited, prioritizing production needs and seeking an effective solution to the mismatches in processing, which, due to the lack of appropriate interlocutors and administrative channels, become real obstacles to the production of our SMEs.”
