The bilateral diplomatic team in charge of the meeting between Presidents Mauricio Macri (Argentina) and Evo Morales (Bolivia), scheduled for November 28, plans to move the meeting from Jujuy to Buenos Aires.
This was confirmed on Tuesday (26.09.2017) by Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Huanacuni in a press conference, according to La Razón.
“Macri and I have already scheduled the meeting for November 28th. We are working to make it Buenos Aires. At one point we had mentioned Jujuy, but we are seeing that the capital is important, understanding that an official visit implies a visit to several other powers, not just the Executive," said the diplomat.
Jujuy was the venue until two weeks ago. The Secretary of Regional Integration and International Relations of the Jujuy Governorate, Carlos Alberto Toconás, had confirmed this information.
The presidential appointment was agreed upon during the Mercosur summit of presidents in Mendoza last July.
The agenda includes urgent issuesSaid Huanacuni, who referred to the gas, Bolivian exports of pineapple and banana, immigration control, sale of barges and boats for rivers and sea, among others.
In addition, there are issues related to Unasur and Mercosur, a bloc of which Bolivia is close to becoming a full member, and the validation of the Brazilian Congress is still pending for this process.
