Peru and South Korea have strengthened their relationship and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and assistance in customs matters, Sunat reported on its official Twitter account.
He highlighted that this occurred on Saturday (02.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) between the head of the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), Enrique Vera and the Commissioner of the Korean Customs Service, Lim, Jae Hyeon, within the framework of his visit to Peru.
Cooperation in the customs area aims to promote cooperation and technical assistance, which allows for the exchange of experiences and the development of customs intelligence programs to combat smuggling and customs fraud.
The Deputy Superintendent of Customs, Marilú Llerena, said that “cooperation in customs matters will allow the exchange of experiences to strengthen the capabilities of Sunat”, while also allowing for the maintenance of “cooperation and exchange of information to combat customs offences”.
As part of the agenda, the Korean delegation visited the Cusco Customs Office, where they reviewed operational processes and initiatives for formalization and entrepreneurship, such as the Expo Warmi program, aimed at micro and small business owners to guide them in the export process.
These actions between the customs of both countries will allow strengthening controls for the benefit of trade facilitation.
