-

The National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) announced this Wednesday (19.08.2020) a new 100% digital process to carry out export procedures, which will allow entrepreneurs to save time and costs.

According to Sunat, This eliminates the use of paperwork and physical procedures that customs agents had to carry out in person.

According to Sunat, more than 8,000 exporting companies, mainly small and medium-sized businesses, would benefit from this new procedure.

This digital export process will allow exporters to reduce significant costs by having an expeditious export system, which promotes competitiveness in foreign trade.

This system incorporates the use of technologies such as electronic mandate, diligence and attention to requests via mobile.

"Now, operators involved in the export process chain (customs agents, freight forwarders, carriers, storage terminals, ports and airports) will transmit customs declarations using the latest version of the data model used by Customs around the world, which allows the exchange of information with national and international entities, with better control and, above all, the facilitation of our exports.s", the entity indicated.

He added that the use of mobile applications for recording physical inspections of goods and electronic requests allows for service from anywhere, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The new export model, Sunat said, also allows for the direct shipment of goods, preventing exporters from incurring storage costs by not having to enter a temporary warehouse, also speeding up the shipment of their products to the international market.
