The Vice Minister of Economic Relations and Integration of Paraguay, Raúl Cano Ricciardi, and the Undersecretary of International Economic Relations of Chile, José Miguel Ahumada, spoke this Tuesday (14.06.2022) about trade and the implementation of the Free trade agreement, during a bilateral meeting within the framework of the XII Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, in Geneva.
In December 2021, both nations signed this pact that modernized the regulatory framework and the existing bilateral relationship through the Economic Complementation Agreement ACE 35, signed by Chile and the Mercosur countries in the 90s, focusing particularly on tariff liberalization.
Officials stressed "the importance of obtaining greater added value through productive chains, the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses, issues related to trade and gender, those related to the environment and the trade of beef," according to official Paraguayan information.
They also analyzed the physical and digital integration, the impact ofThe Bioceanic Corridor, as well as the situation of the mutually granted warehouses and free zones.
Finally, the authorities discussed the perspectives of dialogue between the Pacific Alliance and MERCOSUR.
