WTO publishes 2022 edition of tariff profiles around the world

In a joint effort between the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), they were published this Friday (29.07.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) the 2022 edition of the tariff profiles of more than 170 countries and customs territories, in order to provide updated information on their respective tariffs and non-tariff measures.

“The summary tables at the beginning of the publication provide cross-country comparisons of the average ‘bound’ or maximum tariff that each economy can apply to imports from other WTO members and the average tariffs it applies in practice,” according to the publication.

Readers will also find that the import and export profiles provide cross-country comparisons on the value of imports, export diversification, and relevant tariff data.

The new publication is presented in five parts main ones, namely:

La Part muestra summary tariff statistics of all countries and territories for all products, as well as a breakdown of agricultural and non-agricultural products.

La second provides more detailed data for every economy, with tariffs broken down by product group. Each profile also shows the economy's main trading partners and the tariffs these markets impose on its exports.

La third part presents the Statistics on non-tariff measures (NTMs), such as anti-dumping measures, countervailing measures and safeguards, complement the data on tariffs.

La fourth part contains the special theme which presents a new theme in each edition. The 2022 publication presents the preferential rules of origin in international trade; and the use of Non-tariff measures on “green” and “brown” energy products.
