Workshop on Study of Release Time to Bolivian Customs Successfully Concluded

The World Customs Organization (WCO) reported that the Workshop on the Study of Release Time offered to the National Customs of Bolivia, of the March 7-8, 2023, the objective of which was to provide guidance for its implementation.

The Clearance Time Study is a unique tool to measure the actual performance of customs activities and identify delays of actors in the pre-import phase and difficulties in the processes they carry out at airports, inland, customs agents, cargo agents and transporters, as well as implement solutions in this regard.

Organizers said the training was delivered virtually to 10 officials Customs within the framework of the SECO-WCO Global Trade Facilitation Programme.

According to the WCO, the main outcome of the activity was the review and adjustment of business process maps and questionnaires, as well as initial preparations for the pilot program to be implemented in April 2023 In addition, the experts reinforced participants' understanding of WCO tools and guidelines.

With the successful results, the Bolivian Customs Administration “has completed the steps to implement the Release Time Study and has secured the optimal instruments to deliver accurate results during the study,” the WCO said in the statement.
