The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) announced new reference values for exports of whole frozen shrimp, through the General Resolution 5294/2022.
The measure, published today (29.11.2022) in the Official Gazette, is part of the control instruments implemented by the DGA to supervise foreign trade operations and avoid under-invoicing maneuvers in sales to other countries.
To this end, the agency carried out risk assessment tasks and considered the internal and external sources of information corresponding to the sector, according to the regulations.
Thus, the General Resolution defined a decrease of the reference values set on September 9 of this year by the DGA (General Resolution 5257/2022) for the export of whole frozen shrimp (NCM 0306.17.10).
According to Annex I of the standard, reference values are established ranging from USD 4,90 per kilogram for "whole prawns, frozen on board, in immediate packaging with a net content exceeding 1 kg but not exceeding 2 kg, from 41 to 60 pieces per kg", to USD 6,44 for "whole prawns, frozen on land, in immediate packaging with a net content exceeding 1 kg but not exceeding 2 kg".
The export destinations for which the regulations apply are the following: Group 1 (Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden and Fed. Rep. Germany), Group 2 (Russia), Group 3 (Canada, United States), Group 23 (China, Democratic Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand) and Group 31 (Urkina Faso, Algeria, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gabon, Mauritius, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia and South Africa).
Reference values provide an initial check on declarations to safeguard tax interests and allow for the detection of deviations from the usual values for identical or similar goods.
