New reference values for milk powder exports

-

In order to detect deviations in the declared values, the General Directorate of Customs (DGA) announced new reference prices for exports of powdered milk, through the General Resolution 5363/2023.

According to the regulations, published today (24.05.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, the new reference value for whole milk powder per kilo varies between 3,46 and 4,13 dollars, depending on the composition of the product for exports to countries in America, Africa and Asia.

It should be noted that the DGA has repealed the reference export values indicated in Annex III.

The DGA measure is a preventive mechanism to safeguard tax revenue. In this sense, the reference values make it possible to address unfair competition from those operators who do not comply with the rules and to detect deviations from the usual export values for identical or similar goods.

The regulation indicated that the measure arises from “risk assessment” tasks, for which a study has been carried out on the value of the aforementioned merchandise, in which the “internal and external sources of information foreseen” have been considered.

In this way, the established reference values will be valid from the second administrative business day, inclusive, after their publication in the Official Gazette.
