COMIECO ministers met in El Salvador and agreed on measures to strengthen Central American trade

El Salvador hosted on Wednesday (28.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration (COMIECO) within the framework of the III Round of Customs Union, SIECA reported.

During the session, COMIECO authorities agreed to the signing of important administrative acts for the development of intraregional trade:

  • Approval of the Manual of the Central American Competition Committee
  • Electronic Regional Traveler Declaration
  • Extension for the application of Annex H of the RTCA for the Registration of Veterinary Medicines

Additionally, the COMIECO ministers discussed aspects related to the monitoring of non-tariff barriers to intraregional trade and the analysis of land freight transport conditions.

For its part, SIECA presented to COMIECO the progress made in updating the Central American Strategy for Trade Facilitation and Competitiveness (ECFC), as well as the implementation of the Central American Digital Trade Platform (PDCC).

Please note that El Salvador is in charge of the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration until December 2023.
