The Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade published today (30.04.2026) the Provision 1/2026, which establishes the new Declaration of Origin procedure for exports to the European Union.

The measure comes into effect effective May 1, 2026 and replaces the traditional scheme: from now on, the exporter declares the origin directly, without prior intervention of third parties, through the platform TAD.

The statement will have the character of a sworn statement, The exporter is solely responsible for the documentation, which is valid for 12 months and requires the exporter to retain supporting documentation for 3 years. The system includes subsequent controls and penalties for non-compliance.

The system aims to streamline exports and reduce costs, but requires greater technical precision in determining origin.

Recommendation: It is essential to have expert advice to avoid mistakes and the risk of penalties.
