Paraguay's exports amounted to USD 9.352,3 million in August 2022, down 1,6% to USD 9.505,1 million as of August of the previous year, the issuing bank reported this Tuesday (12.09.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX).
In its Foreign Trade Report, the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP) indicated that exports registereds represented 72,6% of the total, reaching USD 6.790,6 million, 6,9% lower than the accumulated value as of August 2021.
Re-exports, for their part, with 23% of the total, registered a value of USD 2.147,0 million, with an increase of 24,9% compared to the same period last year.
Other exports, with a 4,4% share, registered a decrease of 15,1% compared to the accumulated value up to August of the previous year, standing at a level of USD 414,8 million.

The observed reduction in registered exports is mainly explained by lower shipments of soybeans, electricity and rice.
Shipments made under the maquila regime reached USD 670,2 million, 19,7% higher than what was recorded in the eighth month of 2021.
Imports
As of August 2022, total imports reached USD 9.938,7 million, 25,5% Most Compared to the same period of the previous year.
Registered imports accounted for 96,1% of the total, reaching a value of USD 9.551,8 million, 26,3% higher than the value in August 2021, while other imports accounted for the remaining 3,9%, for a value of USD 386,9 million.
In volumes, a reduction of 8,2% was observed.
Balance of trade
The trade balance, as of the eighth month of 2022, recorded a deficit of USD 586,4 million, result different from the surplus recorded in the same period in 2021. (Foreign Trade Report August 2022)
