The World Customs Organization (WCO) has made available to international trade stakeholders an online platform where they can easily consult everything related to the classification of goods and the determination of the corresponding tariffs and taxes, which has been available since March 3, 2021.
With the name of WCO Trade Tools, is available on the World Customs Organization website: www.wcotradetools.orgThis new database provides a single point of access to the Harmonized System, Preferential Rules of Origin and Valuation, through a completely new, user-centric and ergonomic interface.
In addition, the OMA explained that this platform offers the following: key features:
- Ability to cross-reference information using a comparison tool in the Harmonized System (HS) and Rules of Origin.
- Straightforward overview of the most recent HS updates, highlighting the changes introduced.
- System to track the evolution of HS codes across all editions, using a "History".
- Easy to search through Product Specific Rules in over 200 Free Trade Agreements, and access the corresponding HS entry.
According to the statement, the new instrument also It will promote cooperation between the different teams within the customs administrations, as well as with Customs agents and companies., through various functionalities such as tagging information, writing comments and sharing folders. It offers the possibility to further customize the use of the tool: users can search the extensive databases, as well as organize and store content according to their personal preferences.
It also clarifies that this platform includes the 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017 editions of the HS, around 200 Free Trade Agreements with their preferential Rules of Origin/product-specific recommendations, and the list of valuation texts, including those of the Technical Committee on Customs Valuation.

In addition to this new professional database, the Brussels-based body has launched a new online bookstore: www.wcoomdpublications.org, where users can browse through the range of WCO publications, purchase them and subscribe to the Organization's online services, including business tools.
