The Argentine Chamber of Commerce expressed its concern over new difficulties in importing

-

The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) issued a statement on Friday (11.02.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) addressed to the head of the AFIP, Mercedes Marcó del Pont, expressing its "deep concern about the situation that companies are going through in relation to the process of evaluating their Economic Financial Capacity (CEF)."

The entity stated: “In recent days, our Entity has received increasing questions from numerous associated firms and chambers, regarding the mechanism to which companies are subject to establish the coefficient they will have during the next month, with which they will have to face the possibility or impossibility of formalizing import licenses (SIMI) and payments abroad; and the low authorized amounts.”

In this regard, the CAC indicated that “taxpayers are not aware of the parameters stipulated by the AFIP for granting the quota, which is often insufficient, causing significant harm.” It added: “It is worth adding that this situation is especially burdensome for new companies with no history of payments abroad or international trade operations.”

In light of this situation, the Argentine employers' organisation is calling for "greater traceability and more flexible mechanisms for the creation of the CEF, so that they are in line with the needs of companies."
