-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) launched a computer tool that allows generating one-time passwords to access services with a tax code, through the General Resolution 5048/2021, published this Friday (13.08.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette.

The tool offers a additional level of security for taxpayers by combining the CUIT with the alphanumeric password and the temporary code generated by the application as an authentication method. additional level of security for taxpayers by combining the CUIT with the alphanumeric password and the temporary code generated by the application as an authentication method.

Token software strengthens secure access to AFIP services, and reduces the chances of theft or fraudulent use of the tax code. The use of the application is optionalTaxpayers who currently have a tax code with security levels 1, 2 and 3 can continue with the current authentication system.

Most foreign trade operators who carry out transactions with customs systems are already required to use a second authentication factor, and the new system will simplify the tasks of these users.

The AFIP Token application will be available on Google Play or App Store, and those taxpayers who download and validate the new system will raise the security level of their tax code to 4.

Citizens who download the app will have two ways to validate their identity: at an ATM or at an agency.

  • In the case of legal entities, they must do so using the tax code of their legal representative. When taxpayers carry out the procedure at an ATM, they must enter the “code management” option, which will generate a code, and then they will have 48 hours to enter it in the application.
  • In the case of in-person validation, the application will offer the option to request an appointment to go to any AFIP office. They must attend on the selected day and time, with the mobile device and the digital ID (ID in card format or ID with a light blue cover).
  • At each access, the application will require users to enter their device's unlocking mechanism (fingerprint, facial recognition, pattern or numeric key).

The present General Resolution will come into force as of 1th September 2021.
