The General Directorate of Customs sets reference values for lithium exports

-

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) established reference values of USD 53 per kilogram for the export of lithium, through the General Resolution 5197/2022 published today (31.05.2022) in the Official Gazette.

Reference values are a tool for controlling foreign trade. According to the regulations, their application is the result of a study by the Valuation and Document Verification Department of the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) to dismantle irregularities in lithium carbonate exports that affect tax revenues and the correct liquidation of foreign currency.

In the case of lithium exports, the reference values apply to sales to two groups of countries: United States and Canada. Also South Korea, China, the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong.

The measure will come into effect from the "second administrative business day, inclusive, after its publication in the Official Gazette," the new resolution clarified.
