The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) established new criteria values for the import of bicycle wheels from a series of Asian countries, through the General Resolution 5116/2021.
The measure, published this Tuesday (14.12.2021) in the Official Gazette, applies to merchandise purchased for consumption from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan and Indonesia with a standard value of US$ 4,45 per kilogram.
Criterion values are used to avoid abusive maneuvers in foreign trade such as under or over invoicing of foreign merchandise. Reference prices constitute a first control of the products declared by foreign trade operators in safeguarding fiscal interest and possible abusive maneuvers that impact the normal functioning of the exchange market.
"The revitalization of the criteria values is a political decision to strengthen the national industry as well as different regional economies. The tool offers sustainability to the economic reactivation process of the different sectors," explained the head of the DGA, Silvia Traverso, in a statement.
So far, during Traverso's administration, which began in 2019, criteria values have been established for toys such as metal, plastic and table cars; as well as for headphones, fabrics, artificial teeth, tuning machines for musical instruments, and radiators for central heating, while the existing ones for polyester textiles have also been supplemented.
As regards exports, reference prices were set for 19 product complexes, including lemon essential oil, blanched peanuts, dried plums, limes and lemons, shrimp, squid, hides and skins, pears, apples, garlic, pork, pear tomatoes, concentrated must, blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins, sea bass and beef.
