The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) determined the reference value for Three tariff items on pork frozen that is exported, through the General Resolution 4948/2021 published this Wednesday (17.03.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, to identify abusive maneuvers in foreign trade matters.

The regulations set for exports of channels (whole bodies) or half pork carcasses a value of US$ 2 per kilo.

When it comes to legs, shoulders and their boneless pieces, the established figure is US$ 2,15 and for those Same cuts (except brisket and carré) the value amounts to US$ 2,25.

"With these values, the agency headed by Silvia Traverso establishes reference prices as instruments to detect under-invoicing in exports," said the DGA.

According to the regulations, in the case of the sale of pork abroad, these values apply when they are destined for China, South Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.

The decision is added to the measures disseminated over the last few days when the reference values for the export of pear tomatoes and concentrated must were known, the latter formalized today through the publication of the General Resolution 4946/2021 also published in the Official Gazette.

At the end of January, the reference value for the sale abroad of beef cuts included in 10 tariff items had been established.

In 2020, based on the analysis of different production complexes and industries, the DGA set reference prices for the export of blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins and corvina.

With reference values, Customs seeks to detect deviations from the usual values for identical or similar merchandise.

"These reference prices constitute a first control of the declarations in order to safeguard the fiscal interest," the DGA stressed.

He said that "this is an instrument that had been dismantled during the previous government and began to be re-established in December 2019 as part of the foreign trade oversight and control strategy of the new administration."
